Jason Myers Got Robbed: NFL Fans Lodge Outrage Kenneth Walker's MVP Win

While Kenneth Walker described winning the Super Bowl MVP award as "surreal", not everyone is happy about it. However, many are convinced the award belongs to the wrong Seahawk.

After the NFL made an X post announcing Walker’s feat, fans flooded the comments calling this a move a snub given Myers’ stunning performance on Sunday.

Two comments complimented the running back but brought up Myers’ far superior stats to Walker.

“Kenneth Walker III is a beast, but Jason Myers just got robbed of the most historic MVP in NFL history. 5 field goals, 15 points, and a record that stood for decades... if a kicker doesn't win MVP for that performance, it’s never happening. Kicker lives matter,” the comment read.

The record in question was the field goals record that 49ers' star Ray Wersching set back in 1982, scoring four. While three others, including Eagles' Jake Elliott, tied that record just last year, Walker broke it after 42 years.

However, this X user was wrong about Myers’ points in the Super Bowl. Out of the 29 points the Seahawks scored, he scored 17, and that's another record.

While Walker became the eighth 100-yard rusher in the Super Bowl’s 100 years, Myers set a new standard.

Jason Myers Broke More Than One Record

In the 2025 regular season, he had amassed 171 points, even without scoring any touchdowns. He also had an 85.4% success rate on field goals, scoring 41 out of 48 and gaining 48 extra points.

That helped Myers finish the year with 206 total points, surpassing Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson, who had set the previous record in 2006 at 198 points.

As one aptly wrote, “Congrats to him, but I thought it would have been Myers' day.”

“Kicker set two Super Bowl records, but sure, let’s give it to a guy that didn’t score at all in the game. Ridiculous,” the fan reacted.

Against the Patriots, Walker had 135 rushing yards but did not score a rushing touchdown on 35 attempts.

“Kenneth Walker gets 135 yards and the MVP, but Jason Myers literally carried the entire scoreboard with perfect kicks in the biggest game of his life. Absolute robbery by the anti-kicker voters, change my mind," said another. It's also crucial to note that a place kicker has never won the Super Bowl MVP honors.

“Walker wasn’t even that impressive tbh,” one comment read. He scored five touchdowns from 221 carries, covering 1,027 yards. Meanwhile, James Cook of the Buffalo Bills, who scored 12 touchdowns for 1,612 yards, is one of the top-five running backs of this season.

The majority rallied behind Myers and is disheartened at how the day panned out for him. But what are your thoughts on this?
