Jared Verse Opens Up About Lack of Production As Browns DE Waits to Register First Sack

The Cleveland Browns made a major move this offseason, acquiring Jared Verse from the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for Myles Garrett. The expectation was that the two-time Pro Bowler would help lead Cleveland's defensive front.

However, despite the Browns putting together a respectable 5-3 start, Verse has struggled to deliver the production expected of him. Through eight games, the defensive end has recorded just 18 combined tackles and, more notably, zero sacks.

That is a significant drop from his previous two seasons in Los Angeles, where he registered 12 sacks across 34 appearances. Although Verse has generated pressure, the lack of finishes has become an obvious frustration.

And the Browns defender has admitted as much. Speaking about his performances, Verse acknowledged that his production has fallen short of his personal expectations.

“I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't disappointed in myself and I wasn't wanting more for myself.”

Verse explained that he spent the offseason improving his strength, speed and pass-rushing moves. However, the results have not yet reflected that preparation.

Nevertheless, he understands that frustration alone will not change his situation. With Cleveland still in a promising position, Verse is determined to keep improving and help the team maintain its momentum.

Jared Verse Refuses to Complain and Vows to Keep Working

Despite his disappointment, Verse made it clear that he has no intention of feeling sorry for himself. He believes the only solution is to keep working and become a better player each week.

He also suggested the Browns could have an even better record, insisting the team must continue pushing forward. For Verse, the priority is improving his own performances rather than worrying about the statistics.

The first sack will undoubtedly be a significant milestone. But he remains focused on earning it through hard work.
