Jared Verse Drops Final 5-Word Message After Rams Trade Him to Browns
The Los Angeles Rams shook the entire league by trading star edge rusher Jared Verse to the Cleveland Browns in a wild blockbuster deal for Myles Garrett. Right after the news became official, Verse took to Instagram to break his silence.
"Thank you for everything LA," Verse expressed on his personal Instagram story.
The story was added along with the official breaking news graphic. He capped it off with blue and yellow heart emojis.
The Browns have brought in 25-year-old Verse alongside some draft capital. They get a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick, all in exchange for sending Myles Garrett to Los Angeles.

Verse was the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year and bagged his second consecutive Pro Bowl nod last season with 7.5 sacks.
Now entering his third year in the NFL, the outside linebacker certainly shows promise. However, that may not be enough to fill the void left by Myles Garrett's historic 23 sacks last season.
ESPN analyst Adam Schefter even called it "the trade of the off-season," highlighting its scale.
This deal impacts both rosters massively. With the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks in respective years, the Browns get a golden chance to insulate their roster.
While securing an elite talent on the rise to add quality to their defensive roster in Jared Verse, it's a competitive move to protect their present and future.
The Myles Garrett Impact and the Shifting Super Bowl Landscape
Myles Garrett dropped a record-shattering 23.0 sacks in 2025 to win Defensive Player of the Year.
As reported by ESPN, this marks the first time since 1997 that a reigning DPOY has changed teams in the offseason.
He has recorded an active-best 125.5 career sacks, 412 total tackles, and 23 forced fumbles throughout his career.
This move officially puts the Rams in the ultimate win-now mode. Following the swap, DraftKings immediately moved the Rams' Super Bowl odds to +650 favorites.
The two-time DPOY joins a newly overhauled defense featuring recent acquisitions. The Rams added cornerback Trent McDuffie from the Chiefs and CB Jaylen Watson as an unrestricted free agent.
This has created a terrifying defensive unit ready to chase a ring immediately, with veteran QB Matthew Stafford leading the offense.
With the addition of a rookie QB and 13th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Ty Simpson from Alabama, the Rams seem content with their planning for the post-Stafford era. This perhaps allowed them to trade three draft picks to the Browns.
