There are rumors that the higher-ups of the Cleveland Browns are fond of bringing back Bill Belichick, but ESPN insider Toni Grossi is not in favor of that.

Grossi addressed the rumors and concluded that Belichick joining this Browns team is a bad idea.

"I think it's ridiculous to even consider him... I voted for Belichick in the coaches subcommittee. He will be up for election in the main meeting. I will vote for him. He's a Hall of Fame coach, but he's not a coach I want at this time for the Cleveland Browns."

While Belichick has been phenomenal with the Patriots, he was not so good with the Browns in their first run. He served as the Browns' head coach from 1991 to 1995, finishing with a 36-44 record.

He led the Browns to an 11–5 record and a playoff appearance in 1994, but that was the team’s only winning season under him. After parting ways with the Patriots, he has not shown great results in either.

He was hired as the head football coach of the University of North Carolina Tar Heels in December 2024. The team did not make a bowl game that year, finishing with a 4-8 record. At one point in the season, UNC had not yet won an ACC conference game and was still seeking its first league victory.

But does Bill Belichick even want to come back?

That is one big question mark in front of all these rumors because the former Patriots coach recently said he will not return to the National Football League.

In an Instagram post back in November, he said, "Since arriving in Chapel Hill, my commitment to the UNC football program hasn't (wavered)."

Most importantly, he also added at the time, "It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells' staff for over a decade. However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies."

So teams can show interest in the 76-year-old, but the question remains: Is he? Let us know what you think in the comments.
