“I’m able to dominate the league”: Shedeur Sanders Drops Bold Message Despite Average Rookie Season

Shedeur Sanders' rookie season lies in a grey area, but the Browns' QB has some pretty suprising takeways from that.

The 23-year-old recently appeared on the UpAndAdamsShow, where the host, Kay Adams, talked about the star's rookie season.

She also asked about the time when he feels most himself, to which he replied: "I mean, you can see it...So it's kind of like mastering how to get to that place all the time. You have flashes, that's the most thing I appreciate about this year is I proved to myself I'm able to dominate the league."

Sanders has had his moments in the league this season. In the 29-31 loss to the Titans, he recorded 3 touchdown passes and scored a rushing touchdown while throwing for 364 yards and became only the second rookie quarterback in NFL history record such numbers.

After that game, he joined Aaron Rodgers as one of the only QBs since 2000 to have four completions of 50+ yards in their first three career starts.

Sanders also became the first Browns QB since 1950 to record 300+ passing yards, at least 3 passing TDs, and 1 rushing TD in a game.

Sanders also said, "But I'm able to take completions. I'm able to put all that together, and definitely in games and stuff, we have flashes. But I know I'm capable of doing that. Now to do it on a consistent basis, that's what the goal is."

And that is where the problem is. The Titans game was great, but Shedeur Sanders has failed to replicate that performance or even go near it for the rest of the season.

That is why experts have questioned him for saying that he can dominate the league.

Questions Raised Over Shedeur Sanders Saying He Dominated the League

On a recent episode of ESPN Radio, experts Tony Rizzo, Aaron Goldhammer, and others discussed who would take the first reps in OTA. When the discussion came to Sanders, Goldhammer said:

"I appreciate his confidence, but Rizz, for him to imply that he dominated the league or something… didn't you think that was a little much?"

And he is not wrong to ask that question because Sanders had a QBR of 18.9, which is one of the worst marks among all NFL quarterbacks with at least 200 pass attempts. It was the worst single-season QBR for any Browns QB with at least six starts.

He had had a passer rating of 68.1 with 1,400 yards, 7 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 8 games in 2025.

What do you think about his performance and the statement? Let us know in the comments.
