How Shedeur Sanders Can Save Kevin Stefanski's Job at the Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are about to finish another disappointing season, similar to the last one, where they finished with a poor 3-14 record.
With head coach Kevin Stefanski failing to deliver in his second consecutive season, the danger of losing the job is looming over his head. If there’s anyone who can save his job, it’s the rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
The Orange and Brown talk show host, Dan Labbe, framed the question regarding Stefanski’s future as the Cleveland head coach. He stated, “Is the hay in the barn for Kevin Stefanski, in a sense, like, have we reached the point where is beating the Steelers enough for him to make the case to save his job?”

In his rookie season, Sanders has shown immense potential, scoring 6 touchdowns for 1103 yards in 6 games. He also became the first Browns QB to score 3 TDs for more than 300 passing yards, and a rushing touchdown in a single game. Unfortunately, just like that performance, most of them have come in a loss.
The Browns will play their last two remaining games against the Steelers and the Bengals. If Sanders impresses the masses with his performance and closes out the season on a positive note, Stefanski’s job might be saved. It also depends a lot on how they are developing a coach-QB partnership between them.
Kevin Stefanski and Shedeur Sanders’s growth has been impressive
The Browns are already eliminated from playoff contention with a poor 3-12 record. However, after Dillon Gabriel suffered an injury in Week 11, another rookie QB, Shedeur Sanders, got a chance and is currently developing under him to become the franchise quarterback.
During the same podcast, the Browns reporter, Mary Kay Cabo,t revealed that the team owners are against the decision to bring any major change into the system. Sanders is believed to be an important part of Stefanski's plan and could very well start the next season as the starting QB.
“If Kevin is a big part of Shedeur’s development and Shedeur is going to be the guy, and they like this combo that they have, then I do think that these two games could possibly help Kevin.”
Cabot also shared that Stefanski and Sanders have been spending a lot of time together. “Those two are sitting in Kevin’s office every single day watching film together and figuring things out and reading defenses and correcting mistakes,” she said.
The last two games against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati will be a great test for the duo. Will they be able to work together and end the season with a couple of wins? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
