“he’s washed up”: NFL fans air frustrations over Tyreek Hill’s Raiders link
The Las Vegas Raiders have emerged as the leading franchise that could sign free agent Tyreek Hill. Recently, the chances of the Raiders’ acquisition of him have increased, which could boost the offense significantly.
“BREAKING: The Raiders are now one of the FAVORITES to sign free-agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill. There is a 31% chance that Tyreek signs with Las Vegas, according to the Polymarket App. Imagine having Mendoza x Bowers x Hill,” Dov Kleiman posted on X.
On June 27, the NFL updates platform shared the rise in the trend of the wide receiver joining the team, same as quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
His former team, the Miami Dolphins, released Hill after the 2025 season.
Hill had sustained a major injury, a dislocated knee and torn ACL, in the previous year. Drafted ten years ago by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016, Hill has had a rollercoaster career.
He put up his career-high performance with the Dolphins in 2023 with 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.
While Hill’s speed electrified stadiums, his many serious controversies outside marred his reputation and performances. In recent years, Hill has failed to churn out plays from his elite athleticism.
Despite playing in 17 games, he made 81 receptions from 123 targets for 959 yards in 2024.
As Hill lives in the shadows of his bygone prime, Raiders fans are unhappy even at the possibility of him joining their team.
Las Vegas Raiders fans vehemently against acquiring Tyreek Hill
As the notion of the Las Vegas Raiders acquiring the controversial wide receiver rose, fans made their feeling known clearly.
“I don’t wanna be rude cause I like Tyreek Hill as a player not so much as a human being, but he’s washed up. He will never be the same player. Tyreek Hill’s greatest attribute was his speed. He’ll never be as fast as he was before the fastest player in the NFL now is Achane,” one fan commented on his lost athleticism.
“Hopefully we do not invite this circus to LV,” another sent out a curt reply.
Two fans pointed out that Hill does not fit the dynamics the Raiders’ decision-makers are building in the team.
“Not going to happen. He doesn’t have the personality type that Spytek and Kubiak want on the team. Some of yall need to quit fantasizing and pay attention,” the comment read.
It was followed by a similar, strongly worded one.
“Absolutely not do you even follow the Raiders ?? And see kind of players they are trying bring in ?? Take that circus elsewhere (clown emoji)” one wrote.
One fan held a contrasting opinion. They want to see Hill play with the Raiders rather than his old team.
“I'd rather see him on the Raiders than the Chiefs... That would actually be interesting for the AFC West,” they wrote.
