“He’s Real Scary”: Stefon Diggs Makes Surprising Drake Maye Admission
In just his second season, Drake Maye has led the Patriots to the Championship game. And Stefon Diggs' revelation about the QB might explain it.
In a Thursday media session, the 32-year-old talked about Maye's ability.
“I watch him and his demeanor, his temperament, throughout the game, and it never changes. I think he’s consistent. And the more people that band behind him, you see him kind of get rolling, and once he gets rolling, he’s real scary,” he said.
In the first two preseason games, Maye was forgettable. He had less than 100 yards, 1 touchdown, and fumbled the ball once.
However, he ended the 2025 regular season with 31 touchdowns and only eight interceptions for 4,394 yards. More importantly, he had just two games where he didn't cross the 200 passing yard mark and only two games without a touchdown scored.
In the postseason game against the Texans, Maye threw three touchdowns despite being sacked five times. Against the Chargers in the Divisional game, Maye managed 268 yards and was sacked 5 times.
Going Into the Championship Game, Drake Maye Needs to Perform Well
Going against the Broncos in the Championship game, head coach Mike Vrabel has big expectations out his quarterback.
"Lead our offense, be the conductor, and help us handle the environment. Find as many positive plays as you can, take care of the football, own the operation, and then you’re gonna have to make some big time throws. That’s just kinda how these things go. It’s no different than what we’ve expected of him the entire season."
The Broncos may be without their QB1, but their defense gave Josh Allen a lot of problems in the Divisional game. They forced turnovers from the QB, and they might do so for Drake Maye as well. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
