“he ain’t no nfl qb”: Fans Deliver Blunt Verdict on Former 1st Overall Pick

Bryce Young has had a rough journey with the Carolina Panthers, and the latest reports suggest that it might come to an end soon.

“𝗥𝗨𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗦: The Panthers are NOT expected to extend Bryce Young before the 2026 season, per @josephperson. Young was expected to sign a massive deal…” a May 17 X post by Dov Kleiman reported.

Young, the 24-year-old quarterback, was drafted as the first overall pick by the Panthers in 2023. That year, with a completion rate of 59.8%, he passed for 2,877 passing yards, threw 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

However, since his first season, Young’s improvement has been commendable. With a completion rate of over 60%, he threw 15 TDs against 9 INTs in the following season.

2025 was Young’s career-best as he led the Panthers to the postseason after scoring 23 TDs for 3,011 passing yards. His 11 interceptions, however, are an eyesore.

While analyzing his conflicting performance, an article by The Sporting News said, “Young's numbers from last season tell the story of a quarterback who is improving but not yet elite.” The Panthers signed Young for four years with a fully guaranteed contract worth $37 million.

The franchise has exercised its fifth-year option and offered Young $25.9 million for 2027. This allows the Panthers “flexibility to wait.” While the Panthers are yet to come forth and clear the air around Young’s longevity in the team, fans have shared their true feelings.

Fans Don’t Regard Bryce Young As A Good Quarterback

While the plausible developments are upsetting for Bryce Young, fans are not surprised.

Under Dov Kleiman’s post, they shared their reactions to the situation, and one fan dismissed Young as a quarterback altogether.

“Love the kid but he ain’t no nfl qb.”

This reaction was followed by two others, one of which mirrored the same sentiment.

“If they sign him to a huge deal it will set them back a decade. This is not a QB that is Super Bowl caliber.”

“No he was not expected to sign a massive deal lmao,” another wrote, laughing off the proposition.

However, two fans showed support for Young.

“He's definitely improved.  If they don't do it somebody else will give him a go,” one commented on Young’s growth curve.

“If he comes out and has a banger of season and leads the team to playoffs again. That could very well change!” another wrote.

Fans have made their stance clear on the matter. Now, whether the Panthers keep Young around for longer, only time will tell.
