Just a few weeks ago, President Donald Trump marked a historical moment. He became the first sitting President to attend a regular-season NFL game since Jimmy Carter in 1978 as he watched the Commanders take on the Lions. Now, President Trump has a few encouraging words for Shedeur Sanders, a player he thinks could do well in the NFL. He even said so back in April!

Writing about the rookie, President Trump, at the time, wrote "Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart! Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be 'picked' IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!" he wrote.

Now, months later, with Sanders getting his first big game of the season, President Trump is all for it.

Writing on Truth Social, he said,“Shedeur Sanders was GREAT. Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland). Great Genes. I TOLD YOU SO!” President Trump referred to Coach Prime's incredible years in the NFL. He won two Super Bowls. And while Shedeur is just getting his first start, he's already made his mark.

After completing 209 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception in the 24-10 win, Shedeur Sanders broke a 30-year-old Browns curse. No rookie quarterback had won their first start in three decades. Shedeur Sanders capped that victory off with a cheeky remark.

He said, "I’m who they’ve been looking for. A lot of people want to see me fail and it ain’t going to happen." Well, Sanders is certainly going to get another chance to prove his mettle.

While Kevin Stefanski had not made a choice about the team's starting QB for the upcoming 49ers clash right after Week 12, he has a decision. Shedeur will start the game even though Dillon Gabriel has cleared concussion protocol. With the Browns at 3-8, Sanders has a big responsibility, but Stefanski thinks he can handle it.

"Are there things that he can do better? Absolutely, and we’ve already talked about that with him. He has the mentality that he will make the adjustments to the speed of the game, make the adjustments to what people are giving us to make those improvements," Stefanski explained.
