The Cleveland Browns need a wide receiver that Shedeur Sanders can rely on. A new prediction brought up a valuable candidate to help him out on that front.

Recently, Mason Cameron of Pro Football Focus has linked free agent and former San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings with the Browns. He is easily one of the best receivers still available in free agency and brings immediate impact to the room at Cleveland. 

"Jennings would amplify the group as an efficient possession receiver, having generated more yards per route run (1.35) than any receiver on the roster and having hauled in more contested catches (19) than the entire receiving corps combined (18) last season," Cameron wrote.

The Browns finished with a troubling 5-12 record, and can no longer ignore their quarterback-wide receivers issue. In 2025, Jerry Juedy was the only productive WR, recording 50 receptions, two touchdowns, and 602 yards. Isaiah Bond followed behind with only 18 receptions for 338 yards.

Looking at these performances, the Browns could be the perfect landing for Jauan Jennings, who had a breakout season in 2024 and 2025. 

Jauan Jennings Is the Ideal Candidate to Support Sanders

Jennings caught 55 throws for 643 yards in the 19 games he played last year. And in 2024, he had recorded 77 catches for 957 yards. For a quarterback like Sanders, who is still developing as a starter, he will need a set WR like Jauan Jennings. 

The former 49ers wideout can boast that out of 55 receptions, 36 were first downs and nine were receiving touchdowns. Jauan Jennings would prove to be a welcome change for Sanders. The QB, on the other hand, showed promise in terms of accuracy, growing from 55.0% to 73.9% as a starter.

Such a development is important for the head coach, Todd Monken, who has a successful track record with quarterbacks. But Cleveland would have to splurge on him considerably. 

As per Spotrac, Jauan Jennings’ market value is at three years and $68 million. Whether the Browns pull off this massive trade is to be seen.
