As the 2025 season comes to an end, head coach Kevin Stefanski’s stint as the Browns’ head coach remains undecided. NFL insider Ian Rapoport has suggested that Browns general manager Andrew Berry is expected to be involved in deciding Stefanski’s future. 

“Andrew Berry will be very involved in this situation and where the Cleveland Browns go from here,” he reported.

The Cleveland Browns have persisted as one of the league’s worst teams in 2025. Currently at 3-11, they seem to be repeating another 3-14 season like last year. Stefanski is under fire for his misplaced game calls and procedural mistakes.

Despite dividing responsibilities with offensive coordinator Tommy Reese, Stefanski was called out for sabotaging Sanders’ call sheet and allowing too many players on the field in Week 15 against the Bears.

This added to his initial issues with rookie Shedeur Sanders and poor plays across the season do not reflect well on him. 

Browns insider Mary Kay Cabot said, “If they are looking for reasons to let go of Kevin Stefanski, they are finding them.”

After the awful 2024 season, team owner Jimmy Haslam stated that this season best not be repeated. He stated, “Everybody: coaches, players, personnel, ownership, all know that 3-14 won't cut it.”

According to Rapaport, the Browns’ management might make a few difficult calls.  He stated, “Some change would make sense based on how tough a season it has been.”

Will the change begin with firing Stefanski?

And if so, who will fill his shoes after his six-year stint? Stefanski pushed the Browns into the playoffs in 2020, first time in 18 years, and in 2023.

He was rewarded with Coach of the Year in those years. A stark contrast to his 6-25 record for two years. 

Although he has maintained silence over this issue, during media availability on Monday, Stefanski stated his focus stays on preparing the team for games. 

“I don't get into those type of things…” Stefanski said. “I'm not going to get into those type of things. Not my focus.” 

Will Haslam and Berry take the dysfunctional team, multiple injured players, and poor player trades into account? Will Stefanski get another opportunity to recreate his previous success? Or will they part ways with him for good?
