The Cleveland Browns QB debate has extended beyond just coach Todd Monken. Even players don't have a clear pick for the position, or so they say.

As they approach training camp in late July, radio show host Bruce Murray attempted to get an answer about the same in a recent interview with Alex Wright. 

“I’m not telling. I’m not gonna tell you,” answered Wright as Murray asked about his choice between Sanders and Watson during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s 'The Blitz.'

“You not about to get me in trouble,” Wright added. While his response may seem like he's guarding the Browns' plans for the upcoming season, there's a good chance there's no decision made on who takes the spot.

The OTAs have just finished, and coach Monken has made it clear both QBs are competing for the spot. Moreover, we're weeks away from the training camp and then the pre-season. Those weeks will be what factors into the decision.

Both QBs have been doing well. Deshaun Watson cut short his vacation in Europe and turned up to train in Cleveland. He was seen throwing to the Browns' top receiver from last season, Harold Fannin Jr.

Similarly, Shedeur has shown promise as well. Coach Monken has indicated he's improved from his performances of last season as well when he spoke to Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan.

"It just feels like he’s making quicker decisions. The ball’s coming out of his hands, which he’s going to have to do. Not that he doesn’t have playmaking ability, because he does. But his ability to process quicker and get the ball out of his hands and eliminate lost yards, plays is going to be huge."

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler weighed in with more information about what he’s been hearing within the circles.

“Watson has had the leg up and as was told to me by somebody with the team, Shedeur Sanders has made enough strides where he’s closed the gap, at least somewhat,” said Fowler via ESPN Cleveland on 30 June. “Most around the league expect Watson, the veteran, to get the job.”

During training camp and with pads on, Sanders has the chance to make his best moves during the competition. The Browns will also get a clear look at just how much Watson has improved after returning from his injuries.

The Browns' training camp, which is scheduled to take place later this month, will be the most crucial stretch.
