Former NFL 1st Round Pick Receives $5.45M Windfall
Mike Pouncey, a former NFL center, outgrew his Florida mansion, which was on the market last year. The 4,380 sq. ft. waterfront house, which features a football field, was recently sold.
As per an Instagram post by Houses, “Pouncey’s waterfront Coconut Isle estate has officially sold for $5.45M…this #FortLauderdale residence captured attention nationwide.”
According to Realtor.com, Pouncey bought the Fort Lauderdale property for $4.1 million in 2020 and listed it for sale for $6.95 million.
According to a New York Post article, Pouncey decided to sell this house after he built a new and bigger home for his retirement.
“We built our retirement home on a 220-acre ranch in Okeechobee and plan to move there full-time once our son finishes high school,” Pouncey revealed in 2025.
Born in Lakeland, Florida, he played for the Florida Alligators on the collegiate level and was picked 15th overall, in round one, by the Miami Dolphins in 2011.
He ended his career with the Los Angeles Rams in 2020 after joining the franchise in 2018.
However, Florida is close to his heart as his private, massive football field features the Dolphins’ logo emblazoned in its center.
That football field was more than just a recreational place for a former football player.
Mike Pouncey’s Life Post The NFL
To former NFL center Mike Pouncey, the football field in his Florida home was the training ground for his son, Kayden. He was born in 2008.
“There was originally a house on the lot next door, which I tore down to build a football field for added privacy,” he told the New York Post. “It made sense, since our son is the next in line for football in the Pouncey family tree.”
According to the NCSA, the 15-year-old plays as a quarterback, and his secondary position is wide receiver. Pouncey had bid goodbye to his playing days and shifted his focus to personal well-being entirely.
Pouncey’s daughter, Janiyah, who played basketball and volleyball in high school, graduated last week. While the name of Pouncey’s house is unknown, he and his family appear ready to start a new chapter in their family.
