"Setting yourself up for failure" - Former Eagles player explains why Shedeur Sanders shouldn't start

There has been a lot of conversation in Cleveland over who should start this Sunday's game against Tampa Bay but HC Todd Monken has pretty much confirmed now that Deshaun Watson will start the game.

While a lot of fans disagreed with the decision, former Eagles player Emmanuel Acho explained why he felt starting Shedeur Sanders right now isn't the right decision. Speaking on the Speakeasy podcast, Acho explained:

"If you start Shedeur Week 2 and Shedeur is not Tom Brady reincarnated, you are also setting yourself up for failure. The Browns' offensive line was atrocious. Browns' playcalling was confusing. Browns' offense in totality wasn't on the same page." (via Speakeasy)

Emmanuel Acho on why the Browns shouldn't start Shedeur Sanders now

Emmanuel Acho further explained that playing Sanders right now, with the rest of the offense not clicking isn't the best idea because it's not the ideal situation for the young QB:

You want to go throw a second-year Shedeur into that offensive chaos and hope for success? What the hell do you think is going to happen? The moment Shedeur Sanders struggles, you have to live with Shedeur Sanders struggling for the next 17 games."

The Browns play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this sunday with former QB Baker Mayfield leading out the Bucs after signing his new deal in the offseason.
