5 Key Takeaways From Kevin Stefanski's Press Conference Following the Defeat to the Bears
When it looked like Kevin Stefanski's Cleveland Browns got right back on track after winning over the Raiders. However, reality hit hard with 31-3 loss against the Chicago Bears.
Following the loss, the Browns’ head coach, Kevin Stefanski, answered some burning questions in the press conference. Here are the 5 takeaways:
Kevin Stefanski Still Trusts Shedeur Sanders
Shedeur Sanders completely failed to make any impact against the Bears. He only threw for 177 passing yards and didn’t score any touchdowns, while conceding 3 interceptions and 5 sacks. Yet, despite his poor performance, HC Kevin Stefanski displayed trust in the QB's abilities.

“There’s definitely plays that he wants back, that he can be better, whether it’s a decision or a ball,” Stefanski said. “But I thought he fought till the end and has the right attitude that he’ll just keep learning from all of these experiences.”
The Browns Have to Work With What They've Got
It’s safe to say that Cleveland has the most injuries in the league right now. While QB Deshaun Watson is out for this season with an Achilles injury, CB Denzel Ward, RB Dylan Simpson, and many others' showing up for the next game is questionable.
When asked about whether any player was ready to play, Kevin Stefanski said, “Just the guys who are available, come Sunday, we go to battle with them, and we work really hard during the week to make sure we have contingency plans, and guys are ready to go, backups stay ready, and that’s what we do.”
Browns’ Wide Receiver Gets Kevin Stefanski’s Backing
Jerry Jeudy had a bad outing against Chicago. He failed to score any touchdowns and only had 2 receptions for 22 yards. He also fumbled Sanders’ inch-perfect pass right into the hands of the Bears’ Johnson.
Talking about Jeudy's performance, Kevin Stefanski said, “It’s a 60-minute game, and there are plays in every game that you’re going to want back. From a coaching perspective, from a playing perspective, all we ask and what our guys give is everything they got.”
Kevin Stefanski Chose to be Secretive About His Job
Stefanski is having another bad season as the Browns’ head coach. Cleveland is 4th in the AFC North division and has already been eliminated with a 3-11 record. When he was asked about whether he was concerned about his job or not, Stefanski refused to give any answer, leaving the fans puzzled.
“I would just tell you my focus, our football team’s focus is solely on the Buffalo Bills and obviously, watching the tape today, that’s our focus, but that’s all we really care about,” Kevin Stefanski said. “Yeah, I’m not going to get in those type of things. Not my focus.”
QB Deshaun Watson Might Have to Wait
The Browns’ QB1 for this season, Deshaun Watson, was put into PUP reserve due to an Achilles injury. Although he won’t be able to play the remaining games for this season, Cleveland might add him to the squad for the 2026 season. However, Kevin Stefanski refused to comment on anything about him starting over Sanders.

“I’m very pleased with the progress that Deshaun’s making on the field, in the classroom. He’s doing a really good job.” In the 7 games played this season, Watson has scored 5 TDs for 1148 passing yards.
