"Feels like a slap in the face" - Browns fan shares honest reaction to Deshaun Watson being named QB1

Things have been quite tense around the Browns right now. After all, fans are livid about the team's QB decision. A decision that saw Deshaun Watson take the QB1 spot.

A lot of fans were hoping to see Shedeur Sanders under center, but Todd Monken chose otherwise. This has led fans to questioning what both the front office and coaching staff are thinking.

As Zac Jackson, AKA Akron Jackson put it, the decision "feels like a slap in the face." He does not understand why the Browns have decided to give Watson another chance despite how toxic things have become.

"They've won eight games in two years that shouldn't have even won that many. And for them to put Deshaun Watson back on the field, it absolutely, if it feels like a slap in the face to you as a fan, it should, because that's what it is."

It's safe to say that this decision could potentially end up haunting the Browns and their fans. But, at the end of the day, everyone will have to wait and see how the 2026 season unfolds.

The Browns are relying on one player to help Deshaun Watson succeed

Regardless of how Browns fans feel, the reality of the situation is that Deshaun Watson will be under center for Week 1. He will be expected to lead the team to victory, but he can't do it alone.

In fact, he may have to reply on one player for help. A player who is not on the offense, none other than Jared Verse. Yes, according to ESPN's Ben Sloak, Verse could be the key.

How? Well, Verse's pressure-to-sack ratio is only 8.4%. The fourth lowest among all edge rushers. So, he will really need to step his game up in order for the defense make game changing plays that give the offense opportunities to score points.

At the end of the day though, it's not just about one or two players. It's a team effort, and the team will need to be on point if the Browns are to succeed.
