A social media post has ignited a debate among NFL fans: how would you build the worst franchise of all time? An analyst's prompt has fans passionately discussing the perceived flaws of numerous teams, with the Cleveland Browns taking center stage in the discussion.

On Saturday, Dov Kleiman proposed that fans make the worst NFL franchise with attributes from different existing ones. The X post gave nine options, such as the Cleveland Browns’ offence and jersey, Dallas Cowboys’ coaching, and Los Angeles Chargers’ fans.

Other qualities were the logo and stadium of the Washington Commanders, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ defence, and the Las Vegas Raiders’ city and mascot. 

This post sent fans into a light-hearted debate over their favorite team’s shortcomings, but also made factual errors, like with the Jaguars. 

In 2025, the AFC South team went 13-4 and ranked first in its division. The Jaguars had a top-tier defence, which put them at No. 8 overall in the NFL defence ranking as per Pro Football Reference.  

The team allowed 303.6 defence yards per game and recorded 41 sacks in 2025. Moreover, the team has improved its defense over the years and was even dubbed ‘sacksonville’ in 2017. 

The post was right about the Browns’ offense. The team ended with two embarrassing records in a row in the past two seasons. They went 3-14 in 2024 and 5-12 last year.

The team was ranked 30th overall and 31st in scoring offense. In 2025, they managed only 2,808 passing yards.

And while the Browns may not have much luck winning as a team, they certainly possess a lot of qualities that disappoint.

Fans Think the Made-Up but Worst NFL Team Would Resemble the Browns

One X user commented that the Browns should have used all the options.

“Just make it all the browns,” they replied. 

However, one defensive fan called out the post for claiming the Browns’ jersey was bad instead of the Commanders’.

They even shared a picture of a mannequin dressed in the red “Super Bowl era” uniform, and posed in an awkward position.

“No way you s*** on the Browns when these abominations still exist,” the caption read. 

One fan asked to replace the Jaguars with the Cincinnati Bengals’ defence. The Bengals’ defence was one of the worst in 2025. They allowed 380.9 yards per game and were ranked 31st overall. 

This fan also said that the New York Jets have the worst coaching staff. Most recently, fans are riled up against Aaron Glenn, the Jets’ head coach, for welcoming Geno Smith as the QB1 for 2026.

“replace jags defense with the bengals defense and the Dallas coaching staff for the jets,” the comment read.

Another fan commented that the award for worst city goes to others, including Cleveland, but Las Vegas is not one of them.

“City - Vegas? You have Charlotte, Jacksonville, and Cleveland. All 3 worse than Vegas,” the X user stated.

One fan wrote that the Browns have the worst logo, since they don’t have any. The Browns are the only NFL franchise to have plain helmets.

“Not commanders logo : Browns wins the 1st place because …. No logo,” they wrote.
