A recent study has named an unexpected player as the NFL's most hated: Jalen Hurts. The Philadelphia Eagles QB, who won a Super Bowl in 2024, received a perfect 'Hate Score' of 10.0, according to a report analyzing fan discussions. The ranking has left many fans divided.

NFL Journalist, Dov Kleiman, took to X on February 16th to post, "Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been voted as the MOST HATED player in the entire NFL. Hurts hate score was voted at a 10.0 which is the highest in the league We have never seen a Top 5 QB hated like this.😳😳😳"

According to a Vegas Insider study analyzing Reddit NFL discussion boards, Hurts ranks as the NFL’s most hated player among fans, earning a “Hate Score” of 10.0. Hurts was followed by Jake Moody and Luther Burden. Interestingly, there wasn't any other Philadelphia Eagles player in the list of most hated players.

“They don’t like the way he does things, but he only does what they ask of him,” NFL legend Chad Johnson said on the Nightcap podcast. “And the results...even though it’s not pretty, even though it’s not aesthetically pleasing to the eye...Jalen Hurts wins all the time.”

Let's not forget that he delivered a massive blow to another very big fan base in the 2025 Super Bowl. Jalen Hurts and co defeated the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX with a 40-22 score. He might draw a lot of hate from there.

That's why one fan said, "They’re just mad cuz he’s proven why he’s an elite and successful QB 🦅🦅", while posing a picture of Hurts with the Lombardi trophy.

Fans Have Mixed Feelings Towards Jalen Hurts being the Number 1 Hated NFL player

Many have opposed it, saying, "A guy who just quietly goes out there and plays the game, Doesn't seem to get into trouble off the field is the Most Hated?? That says more about the "Fans"." Another fan followed the same lines, saying, "He literally hasn’t done anything, the dude seems kept to himself."

In terms of off-field controversy or drama, Hurts is generally under the radar compared with a lot of high-profile NFL players. But a lot of fans have also had negative feelings for the Eagles' QB. "Bros only successful cause the tush push plus a super team… This is why hofers like Steve Young be cutting him out of photos 😭"

The user also posted a screenshot of Steve Young's post where Hurts was half removed from a photo of a bunch of former Super Bowl MVPs, including Tom Brady, Peyton and Eli Manning, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Lynn Swann, Emmitt Smith, and Jalen Hurts.

One user also said, "In what world / metric is Jalen Hurts considered a top 5 qb? He’s a lot closer to 15 than 5. Maybe even closer to 20 than 5". Hurts has thrown for 17,891 yards and 110 touchdowns. He has won 1 Super Bowl MVP award and 1 championship. Where would you rank him?
