ESPN Analyst Reveals Harsh Shedeur Sanders Reality After Myles Garrett Statement
Myles Garrett has made it clear. Shedeur Sanders needs to prove himself to get the starting spot. And ESPN expert Tony Grossi agrees.
On Monday, expert Tony Grossi weighed in and said that Garrett spoke for the entire team.
“I think he reflects the team's attitude; he didn't gush about Shedeur. He said ‘well he’s the last one instead,’ and that’s pretty much what it is,” Grossi said.
Grossi referred to the long wait Shedeur had to get the QB1 role in 2025. First, being the 144th pick, and then being relegated to QB4. His first start only came when Dillon Gabriel battled a concussion against the Ravens in Week 11.
Since then, Sanders has given mixed results. He threw for 1,400 yards with 7 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
These aren't the numbers you'd want to see from a franchise QB. Even fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel managed 937 yards with 7 touchdowns. Sanders needs to stand out to take the top spot.
That's why Myles Garrett had also mentioned another option: Deshaun Watson. "I feel like everyone on the roster is going to get a shot. Sanders] was the last guy on the field, so he's obviously going to get first serve. Deshaun, whoever else is on the roster, is gonna get a real look."
But What Does Shedeur Sanders Think?
Sanders has shown improvement since his difficult debut against the Ravens. The game against the Titans proved that. And in the off-season, he's looking to get even better.
"I think overall, it helped me get to myself quicker. I think I am almost there. Am almost back myself fully, emotionally, mentally, and physically. So, I am just excited to be around the game," he said while talking to Sirius XM Radio.
Shedeur still has a few months to go before the season starts. Do you think he will take the starting job in 2026?
