Eminem Only Consolation for Detroit Fans as Packers Pick Up Critical Win

Nov 28, 2025, 9:11 AM CUT

"Detroit don't get a whole lot of Hollywood endings." Eminem's words from the 2024 documentary make a lot of sense after last night's game. The Lions came into Thanksgiving expecting a big day, with Jack White performing at halftime, but fans were met with a surprise from Eminem they didn’t see coming.

Fans knew Eminem was producing the show, but the real kicker came during halftime. Eminem shocked the crowd when he walked onto the field during the halftime show, wearing a Lions letterman jacket and his signature white hood. He rose from a platform surrounded by bright fireworks as “Till’ I Collapse” shook the stadium.

The reaction inside Ford Field was electric, and the cheers spread across the entire arena. Jack White, the main performer and a fellow Detroit icon, even mixed a rock version of the Eminem hit into his set, pushing the excitement even higher.

Eminem created the entire halftime show as the executive producer. He worked with longtime manager Paul Rosenberg under a multi-year deal to shape the Thanksgiving performance. This was his first year leading the show, and choosing Jack White made perfect sense since both stars are deeply connected to Detroit.

So when he suddenly appeared, the stadium exploded with the loudest reaction of the day. While it wasn't on the level of his 2022 Super Bowl performance, it was an impressive moment.

As for Eminem, it wasn't special just because Detroit is his home. There was a special guest in the audience. His daughter, Hailie Jade, was in the stands with her son, as she revealed in her Instagram post, captioned, "happy thanksgiving."

However, things quickly went downhill for the Lions. Right before the half ended, Jameson Williams powered Detroit to a touchdown, with both teams separated by 4 points. That's when the Packers stepped on the gas, taking 14 points in the third quarter while the Lions only managed 7. In the end, it was an anti-climatic 31-24 win for the Packers.

With this game, Green Bay moved to 8–3–1, right behind the Bears at 8–3 as Chicago prepared to face the Eagles. The Lions, now at 7–5, slipped into a crowded wild-card battle.

Eminem gave the city a moment to celebrate, even if the scoreboard didn’t. Now the question is simple: what do you want to see next, another surprise from Eminem, or a stronger finish from the Lions as the season gets tougher?
