Eagles Emerge as Top Candidates for Raiders Star Maxx Crosby
Rumors of Las Vegas Raiders’ star Maxx Crosby getting traded refuse to die down, and one prominent team has emerged as the top contender to sign the star defensive end.
On Sunday, Dov Kleiman posted NFL expert Mike Garafalo's prediction on X that the Philadelphia Eagles are a “big time” potential landing spot.
“I mean, listen, they tried to trade for Micah Parsons in the division, right?” Garafalo said on the Anthony Gargano show.
"Why wouldn’t they be considered a strong contender for a team that would be like, ‘yeah, get him out of the conference, get him to another team?’ I would put the Eagles in the top three, five, whatever [teams] for Maxx Crosby if and when this thing opens up, and I do believe it’s going to open up," he added.
In 2025, the Eagles ranked 13th overall for allowing 314.2 yards per game, allowed 34 touchdowns, and their playoff average was 361.
The team showed improvements after Week 10 and was ranked third across for allowing only. 14.3 points per game.
The Eagles already have a formidable defence, but the newly acquired linebacker Jaelan Phillips could use a seasoned defensive player like Crosby. Moreover, there's no indication that either party wants a trade.
Acquiring Maxx Crosby won't be easy
Acquiring Crosby would be a costly affair as he is entering the second year of a $159.4 million contract extension. For the Eagles, this implies a major salary cap spillover.
Moreover, the edge defender underwent knee surgery, and his recovery period spans months. Meanwhile, Maxx Crosby, a five-time Pro Bowler who has racked up 69.5 sacks and 164 quarterback hits, recently hinted that he doesn't plan to leave.
He made a statement against trade rumors and asked to “be left the f*** alone.” The Raiders don't seem interested in selling him either.
"He is a true Raider on and off the field – we look forward to his leadership and toughness into 2026 and beyond," the team announced in December 2025 when putting him injury reserve.
