“dumbest thing”: Fans divided over Tom Brady’s bold Aaron Rodgers statement
Records, rings, and greatness define Tom Brady, yet the NFL icon isn't crowning himself the greatest passer ever. Instead, the GOAT believes another quarterback deserves that distinction. But not everyone agrees with that sentiment.
NFL insider Dov Kleiman revealed on his X handle that Brady believes Aaron Rodgers is the greatest passer in NFL history. Soon, the reactions poured in with all kinds of opinions.
“Wow: The legendary Tom Brady praises Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers, calling him the best passer in NFL history," Kleiman's X post read. "There's no greater passer of the football than Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is one of the best to ever do it.”
Tom Brady originally made this statement while appearing on Stick To Football, where he humbly described Aaron Rodgers as the best passer and praised him.
“It would be like someone kicking the ball. I mean… There are certain people like Roberto Carlos, the way that he kicked that ball… There are certain people that you're like (jaw drops). You see everyone do it, and then you see one person throw the ball that much better. Aaron Rodgers was incredible,” said Brady on Stick To Football.
Although both Brady and Rodgers spent years in the league, they rarely faced each other because they spent most of their careers in opposite conferences.
They faced each other just six times, including the 2020 NFL Championship game. In that match, Brady guided the Buccaneers to win against Rodgers’ Packers before winning the Super Bowl.
Brady played 23 seasons before retiring after the 2022 campaign, while Rodgers is set to make one final run with the Steelers at 42.
Brady's recent confession really does show Rodgers' skills, but the fanbase remains split over the admission.
Tom Brady’s Aaron Rodgers confession leaves NFL fans divided
While the confession seems genuine, the fanbase is not convinced by what Tom Brady had to say.
“That is the dumbest thing the GOAT has ever said,” one fan expressed,
However, another fan took Rodgers' side, saying Brady understands the kind of skill Aaron has.
“Rodgers' arm is a work of art, Brady knows greatness when he sees it.”
Interestingly, one fan supported both quarterbacks,.
“Big praise from Tom Brady for Aaron Rodgers—two of the most iconic passers the game has ever seen,” a third comment read.
It is also important to note that Rodgers has built a career on his passing reliability. He still holds the league record for the lowest interception percentage ever at a stunning 1.4% across his regular-season career.
Lastly, one fan believed Brady could have played a few more years before retiring, but the same cannot be said for Rodgers.
“I disagree.. still think when Tom Brady retired he could have kept playing. I think Aaron is ready to retire, and he should retire. Go Lions,” the final reaction read.
Given that, what is your opinion on Tom Brady’s statement? Let us know in the comments below.
