Drake Maye's Record Takes a Strong Dent as the Seahawks Hand Patriots QB a Major Blow
The Seattle Seahawks' defensive unit is looking like the Legion of Boom once again, and Drake Maye is facing the brunt of the damage.
While the QB has opened the New England Patriots’ account in the first half of every game this season, that streak has been broken at the worst time possible. The Seahawks have become the 15th team to shut out their opponents in the first half in Super Bowl history.
Maye’s only highlight in the first half was that he was sacked thrice. At 8:51 on the clock in the first quarter, linebacker Derrick Hall pounced on Maye to halt the momentum.
Patriots-Seahawks is the first Super Bowl without a first-half TD since 2018...

Another sack came just minutes later, this time, from cornerback Devon Witherspoon, dragging the 23-year-old down for a 10-yard sack. The last sack came in the second quarter, when defensive tackle Rylie Mills pushed Maye down at New England’s half.
What many fans expected to be a high-scoring Super Bowl, it has been a cagey affair so far. It has become the first edition without a first-half touchdown since 2018.
The Seahawks opened their account with a field goal. With 11:51 remaining on the clock, Jason Myers drills a 33-yard field goal right through the uprights. The first quarter ended with the Seattle side leading the Patriots by 3 points. And that lead simply extended in the second quarter.
By the end of the first half at Super Bowl LX, the New England side trailed the Seahawks 9-0. The sophomore year star has struggled against the Seattle defense, as he only threw for 48 passing yards without reaching the endzone. And while he's been impressive throughout this season with 31 touchdowns, he's scoreless this time.
The New England Patriots Have Prepared For This
A big part of Mike Vrabel's training strategy has been getting the players ready mentally for the game, including the massive break at the half-time.
He even took to blasting Bad Bunny music to simulate the half-time performance and the nearly 30-minute break.
With the third quarter closing out, the Seahawks lead 12-0. While the Patriots have managed to hold them to a single field goal in this quarter, they need big offensive moves to make the comeback.
