Drake Maye Assures Fans Hours After Shaving Hair for $62.7 Million Cause

On Tuesday, Drake Maye, the New England Patriots’ star quarterback, helped raise a huge amount for charity.
After contributing to the “Saving by Shaving” event, Maye updated fans on his injured shoulder. He reassured them that he is fine.
As per the Boston Globe, Maye spoke about his offseason and revealed he was getting back in training.
“Shoulder's feeling good, feeling great. Just having some time off, being able to get back into throwing and lifting. Shouldn't be an issue,” he said.
Maye sustained an injury to his left shoulder during the AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos.
The Patriots won 10-7 in a thrilling, snow-laden game, but Maye’s shoulder injury certainly affected the game. Maye’s completion rate in that game was 47.6 percent, his lowest in the 2025 postseason.
Maye revealed that he needed a pain-killing injection before the big finale.
Despite the setback, the Patriots qualified for their first Super Bowl since 2019 but lost against the Seattle Seahawks. Maye gave away six turnovers and was sacked three times in the bitter 29-13 loss.
The 2025 season might not have ended in the Patriots’ favor, but it was a huge morale boost.
Robert Kraft Couldn’t Stop Raving About His Team
When Mike Vrabel was appointed head coach in February 2025, the Patriots were at a record low of 4-13. But he turned things around in just a year with Maye, who competed for the Lombardi Trophy at age 23.
And franchise owner Robert Kraft couldn’t be prouder. The Patriots’ AFC victory against the Broncos last left a lasting impression on him.
“It was wonderful. And winning that championship game in Denver, when we have such a past history of difficulty winning in Denver, it was very special, and I’m so proud of this team. And most of them are still young.”
The Patriots also won 10 consecutive games last season, which is another incredible feat. Having the third-easiest schedule across the league certainly must’ve helped. But perhaps that was a one-time thing. According to Kraft, the Patriots have a tough road ahead in 2026, literally.
“We have a pretty tough -- I think the hardest -- schedule, a lot of West Coast travel,” he opined over the schedule.
The 2026 NFL season kicks off on September 9, and fans can’t wait to see how the Patriots and Maye do this time around.
