Dolphins Break the Bank With Major $52.5 Move for All-Pro Aaron Brewer
The Miami Dolphins and veteran center Aaron Brewer agreed to a three-year and $52.5 million contract on Wednesday. Brewer was heading into the final year of his previous three-year and $21 million contract.
Brewer was an undrafted free agent from Texas State in 2020. The 28-year-old was with the Tennessee Titans for four years before signing with the Dolphins in 2024. The news of his extended contract was shared by NFL insider Ari Meirov.
“Just in: The Dolphins and All-Pro C Aaron Brewer have agreed to a 3-year, $52.5M extension per @adamschefter,” wrote Ari Meirov on his X post.
Per Timothy Rapp of the Bleacher Report, Brewer’s extended contract with the Dolphins gets him $37 million guaranteed. Spotrac ranks Brewer with a $17.5 million average salary as the third-highest paid center in the NFL after Las Vegas Raiders’ Tyler Lindbaum($27 million) and Kansas City’s Creed Humphrey ($18 million).
In the past two seasons, Brewer has started 33 games for the Dolphins and earned second-team All-Pro honors last season. He was also the finalist for the NFL’s inaugural Protector of the Year award, which is given to the league’s best offensive lineman, per Alanis Thames of the Associated Press.
In the 2025 season, Brewer helped running back De’Von Achane rush for a career-high 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns.
Since then, the center has been waiting for a new deal, which came through, and has big aspirations for his future in Miami, Grace McCarron of the New York Post shared.
Dolphins’ Center Aims Higher After All-Pro Recognition
Shayne Kubas of the Phin Phanatic revealed that Brewer went undrafted out of Texas State due to his smaller frame and low level of competition.
The spotlight turned to him during his days with the Tennessee Titans, where he became a full-time starter at guard in 2022.
Brewer then ended up changing to the center job, which made Miami notice him and sign him to a three-year and $21 million contract in 2024.
Even amid team struggles in 2025, he established himself as one of the NFL’s most impactful run blockers.
Brewer spoke with reporters after the final week of OTAs for the Dolphins. He revealed his plan for the 2026 season is to “keep pushing for more”.
“I feel like every year is a new year, and so, every year you got to prove yourself again,” said Brewer. “I was second-team All-Pro last year, but this year I want to be first-team All-Pro… Nominee for Protector of the Year, I want to be the Protector of the Year. That’s what keeps pushing me and keeps me thriving every year.”
Brewer’s journey from an undrafted prospect to an All-Pro candidate continues as he sets his sights on even greater accomplishments during the 2025 season.
