The Cleveland Browns recently announced their 53-man roster and their seems much to the excitement of the fans. In terms of who made the cut, there isn't much to talk about, but one player's name is missing, and that's Dillon Gabriel.

Gabriel didn't have the best start to his NFL career. In his rookie season he managed to throw for 937 yards and register seven touchdowns in 10 games before being replaced by Shedeur Sanders.

Now, he sees himself of the team thanks to a back injury. According to reports, the Browns have placed Gabriel on short-term IR. As such, he is likely to miss the first four weeks of the season.

The 25-year-old featured in the Browns' final preseason game, leading the team to a 37-13 win over the New England Patriots. He threw for 186 yards and picked up three touchdowns.

It will be interesting to see how Todd Monken's QB plans change once Gabriel returns from injury.

With Dillon Gabriel now out of the picture for a while, the QB situation for the Browns is interesting.

As per the team's initial 53-man roster, Todd Monken will be heading into the new season with Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Taylen Green at his disposal.

Watson has been announced as QB1, with Sanders backing him up. It will be interesting to see how things play out in this new era in Cleveland.

Hopefully, Monken can start his NFL head coaching career with a bang.
