Deshaun Watson faces another test as the Cleveland Browns prepare to visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season.

His return to regular-season action produced a difficult opening chapter against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Watson completed 16 of 22 passes for 205 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Cleveland’s 34-10 defeat.

The quarterback addressed the media ahead of the Tampa Bay game, with expectations around his performance becoming a topic of discussion.

Mary Kay Cabot shared a clip of Watson’s comments on social media. The Browns quarterback also seemingly called out the media for the lofty expectations placed on him:

“I think personally all that is for the media. Man, I think the media has this expectation that I'm supposed to throw 400 yards and 5 touchdowns every week.”

Watson then explained where his attention remains as Cleveland looks to move forward.

“Again, my job is to make sure I'm operating well so we can try to get a win and keep moving forward from that.”

The Buccaneers fell 33-27 to the Cincinnati Bengals, setting up another early-season matchup between teams seeking their first win.
