Deshaun Watson reveals Browns' mindset before comeback win

Deshaun Watson helped the Cleveland Browns overcome a two-hour weather delay in a 23-19 comeback over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 2.

Speaking to CBS reporter Tiffany Blackmon after the game, Watson explained how Cleveland maintained its focus during the extended weather stoppage with 2 minutes still left on the clock:

"We just believed. We were in the locker room, we were talking to each other. Defense—offense—going back and forth, and just kind of keep the energy up."

The Browns had trailed 16-6 before Watson helped spark the comeback. He connected with Denzel Boston for a 55-yard touchdown before finding Blake Whiteheart for the go-ahead score.

Watson also credited both sides of the ball for finishing the job:

"The defense came to us, the offense did their job, we gotta handle it. And they did at the end, so it was great to get a team win."

Cleveland's belief through the delay helped them finish the comeback and leave Tampa Bay with a win.

Todd Monken earns first Browns win as Deshaun Watson ends long wait

Todd Monken celebrated his first win as Browns head coach, and Deshaun Watson also earned his first victory as a starter since Week 2 of 2024.

Watson completed 24 of 30 passes for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Monken later praised his QB1 and expressed how happy he was to see his quarterback get the win.

The victory gave both men a significant milestone after a difficult opening week.
