"I haven't looked at the box score" - Deshaun Watson reacts to dismal perfomance against the Jaguars
The Cleveland Browns started the season with a 34 - 10 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Browns were convincingly outplayed on both sides of the ball and coach Monken has a lot of work to do before the next game against Tampa Bay.
Deshaun Watson had a dismal showing in his first start since 2024 and things started off badly with an interception on the first drive of the game. Things didn't get much better from there and he ended the game with a 34.2 QBR.

Speaking to the media after the game, Deshaun Watson stressed that the team needs to find their footing, stressing that they needed to improve before the next game. He also ackwledged his own shortcomings saying that the Browns didn't put enough points on the board. Watson said:
"You have to find a rhythm overall. Of course everyone is going to look at the quarterback in this situation. Overall, I haven't looked at the box score or stats so I don't know what that looks like, but yeah, we have to put points on the board, and that's what you have to do in this league... We've got to look at the tape and see how we can be better." (via Cleveland Browns)
The Browns play Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in game week 2. Browns fans are already calling for Watson to be replaced with QB2 Shedeur Sanders. For his part, coach Todd Monken stressed that the issues the Browns had against the Jaguars weren't solely down to Watson's play and said that the entire team needs to improve.
