The Cleveland Browns and Deshaun Watson made a dismal start to the season with a 34 - 10 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The game was so one sided that the Jags pulled Trevor Lawrence early into the 4th quarter.

Watson has faced a lot of criticism after the game, which he ended with a QBR of 34.2. ESPN Cleveland's Jake Trotter gave a damning indictment on the situation:

"This poor fan base has been gaslit on Deshaun Watson by multiple front office people, ownership, different head coaches, multiple offensive coordinators and QB coaches. We are in year 5 of this and it has never looked worse." (via ESPN Cleveland)

Deshaun Watson could start against Tampa Bay

Looking ahead to next weekend's game, Trotter also said that he feels starting Watson makes no sense, especially after his performance against the Jaguars. However, he felt that based on Coach Monken's words, we will see Watson starting again:

"I don't understand why you would want to play Deshaun and based on what Monken said, it makes me think that Deshaun Watson is going to start next week in Tampa."

Apart from QB play, the Browns will also be worried about the defense. Losing Jim Schwartz and Myles Garrett over the offseason really hurt this defense and it showed.
