Deshaun Watson Issues Statement on Forgotten Browns WR Amid Trade Rumors

Deshaun Watson has helped guide the Cleveland Browns to a 3-1 start while developing chemistry with several young offensive weapons. Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion have emerged as important targets, while Harold Fannin Jr. has also become a reliable option.

Watson completed 24 of 33 passes for 268 yards and a touchdown in Cleveland's 27-24 win over Pittsburgh. That performance helped the Browns complete their third straight victory, with the offense increasingly being shaped around its younger playmakers.

However, one notable exception has been Jerry Jeudy. The former No. 15 overall pick has recorded just five catches for 62 yards through four games, including three catches for 36 yards against Pittsburgh.

With Jeudy's role shrinking, trade speculation has naturally followed. Reports have identified him as a potential trade candidate before the November 10 deadline, particularly after Boston and Concepcion earned larger roles.

Watson, however, appears to want his veteran receiver around. He praised Jeudy's leadership and explained that his opportunities have been limited, but the veteran has still delivered when those chances arrived.

"We don't forget about Jerry. Jerry's been around, he's been a leader, he's been that vet in that receiver room, making sure all the young guys are staying on tasks."

Watson then pointed to Jeudy's late-game contributions against Pittsburgh, saying he was ready when his opportunities came. That endorsement could matter as Cleveland considers whether to keep its veteran receiver or explore the trade market.

Deshaun Watson Continues to Show His 4th Quarter Magic

Deshaun Watson has continued to produce when Cleveland needs him most. Against Pittsburgh, he led the late drive that set up Andre Szmyt's game-winning 56-yard field goal with 10 seconds remaining.

His connection with Cleveland's young core has also been encouraging. Still, Watson's latest comments make one thing clear: Jeudy has not been forgotten, even as his role has diminished.

For now, the Browns appear to have plenty of confidence in their veteran receiver. Whether that keeps Jeudy in Cleveland through the trade deadline remains to be seen.
