The fallout from Cleveland Browns' blowout loss on the opening day of the season can still be felt. Both fans and Cleveland media have called out the below par performance from the team and especially QB Deshaun Watson. HC Todd Monken has sugarcoated his criticism of Watson in his comments after the game, laying the blame on the team as a whole.

Speaking on 92.3 The Fan, Cleveland media personality Adam 'The Bull' Gerstenhaber didn't hold back and put the blame squarely at the feet of Deshaun Watson and Todd Monken. He pointed out that Monken had named Watson QB1 despite a dismal showing in training camp and during the preseason:

"Deshaun Watson lost whatever he had, but definitely the coach lost more. I guess there was a little hope... but he's been terrible, he looks terrible but maybe Todd Monken has seen something that we haven't seen in the huddle or the locker room. Even though it's just one game, it's clear none of that existed, because it was so bad." (via 92.3 The Fan)

How much blame should Todd Monken be taking?

The real question after the game is how much blame lies at the feet of Todd Monken. While it was Monken's first ever game in the NFL as a head coach, fans were already critical for him for naming Deshaun Watson the starter.

After the game, his decisions during the blowout loss against the Jaguars are also being questioned, not just his roster decisions.

Adam 'The Bull' Gerstenhaber was also critical of Monken for choosing to settle for a field goal when the Browns were 31 - 0 down during the third quarter:

"When it was 31-0 and they kick that field goal, to me, that's quitting... That field goal was meaningless. It was ridiculous.Todd Monken and the ridiculous defensive coordinator both took a bigger drop."

Todd Monken has all but confirmed that Deshaun Watson will remain the starter for the Browns' week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
