Deion Sanders Breaks Silence on Son’s Controversial Remark Against Browns Journalist

Deion Sanders recently appeared on “The Barbeshop” show with the host Garrett Bush. On the episode, he discussed his family background, his son Shedeur’s QB struggles and more importantly, addressed the controversial remark his son, Shilo, recently made.

Shilo Sanders has been calling out the Browns’ insider journalist, Mary Kay Cabot, for her reporting on Shedeur Sanders and the Browns. Deion responded to the recent comment, “Go make a sandwich Mary,” made by Shilo, which received backlash from fans.

“We don’t talk about nobody. We don’t do nothing to nobody,” Deion stated. “I know Shilo had a little altercation that he spoke up for his brother. You’ve got to understand man, that’s his brother.”

According to Jon Root of Fox Sports, Shilo came to the defense of his brother, Shedeur Sanders, who is the quarterback for the Browns. Cabot had shared that QB Deshaun Watson appeared to be leading the QB1 competition over Shedeur in Cleveland.

Shilo’s main point of contention was that Cabot was sharing her opinion instead of stating the facts. He called out Cabot on a livestream on Twitch, asking her to report facts because the opinions she shares about Shedeur come across as hateful.

“And God bless Mary Kay’s soul, that’s his brother. She said something, he said something, like the media is different today,” Deion added further. “I know a lot of people don’t respect the old school. I do, because I grew up in that era that we didn’t have a say so…. But Shilo spoke up for his brother and he was ridiculed for that.”

The Hall-of-Fame coach concluded by reinforcing that Shilo’s reaction was fair. The Sanders family is known for jumping to each other’s defense and taking a stand for their family.

While Shedeur’s father and brother continue to defend him, the 24-year-old is preparing for his second year with the Browns and in the NFL.

Shedeur Sanders’ “Means Nothing” Statement Amid QB1 Speculations

A certain section of NFL insiders have reported that Deshaun Watson is going to be the QB1. Shedeur Sanders took to social media to convey that outside opinions do not bother him.

“Think about a person’s opinion….in the grand scheme of life, it means nothing,” Sanders shared on his Instagram story. “We often give opinions power when we react to them and make them seem valuable….. In the end, as long as you’re walking in your purpose, GOD should be the only one you seek to please.”

The Browns’ head coach, Todd Monken, clarified that the QB1 will only be decided after watching all QBs’ games at the minicamp, training camp and the OTAs.

Shedeur is all locked in to give his best during the upcoming season. Shedeur’s message comes at a time when pressure is building up at the Browns’ camp.
