Deion Sanders Breaks Illusion About Shedeur Sanders in Bold Statement

University of Colorado's head coach Deion 'Coach Prime' Sanders recently revealed how he's keeping a tab on the reports about his son and the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback, Shedeur Sanders.

During his appearance on Garett Bush’s show “The Barbershop” on Thursday, Deion give some inside info on the Sanders family, especially on Shedeur's privilege and his NFL career so far with the Cleveland Browns.

“See you’re getting caught up in thinking how he grew up. He didn’t grow up with no silver spoon," Deion said. "He didn’t grow up with no credit cards.”

The young Sanders has been in the spotlight since his college days at Colorado. However, his entry into the NFL and the recent QB1 battle have made him a point of discussion in Cleveland.

Shedeur is considered one of the biggest names coming out of Colorado Buffaloes, as his jersey was retired after his two-year stint. He was also projected to be the first-round pick during the NFL Draft in 2025.

However, a draft prank call and concerns about his attitude deprived him of his impressive collegiate football career.

Later on, the Browns drafted Shedeur with the 144th pick in the fifth round of the draft. Moreover, he could play as the starter QB in only eight games in 2025. During the interview, Deion also discussed his pre-draft experience and the draft slide.

“When he takes off his shirt, I see the scars on his back that he’s been through h***, but he’s made it through h***,” Deion said.

The NFL legend and protective dad concluded by saying that the Sanders family keeps receipts now on who talks about them, especially about his son.

“Shedeur just wanted the opportunity to get on the grass and do his thing,” Deion added further. “I’m proud of him as a man. How he’s developed and his relationship with the Lord has strengthened so much and that’s one thing I’m truly proud of.”

With Shedeur all geared up for his second season with the Browns, Deion made his feelings clear about the Browns' new HC, Todd Monken.

Deion Sanders Gets Honest About the Browns’ New HC

Deion Sanders, or Coach Prime, is a big fan of Coach Monken. During his interview, Deion expressed Monken's honesty and believes in how he can unlock Shedeur's potential.

“I love him, man. Because he’s a straight shooter. He keeps a buck,” Deion stated.

He also mentioned Shedeur’s rookie year, when no one asked him about how to extract the most out of his son's abilities.

“I think it’s vital that as a coach, not a dad, I could tell him about a few things about how to get him (Shedeur) going,” Deion added.

Coach Prime said that he can’t wait to have that conversation with Coach Monken.

Shedeur had the best years of his football career playing under his dad, Coach Prime. The proud father wishes the best for his son under Monken’s leadership.
