For the Cleveland Browns, improvement in the offense entails serious regrouping in the wide receiver room. A rookie WR believes that with camaraderie, they are set for an explosive year.

“I think that this new wide receiver room, you know, it could be dangerous,” KC Concepcion said on The Insiders. “Everybody compliments each other, you know, everybody is a different receiver.”

The former Texas A&M Aggies player sat down for an interview with the NFL Network on July 1 to talk about his team’s quarterback competition. However, the discussion on the wide receivers was imminent. 

When asked about his comfort level within the Browns' offense, Concepcion said on @NFLNetwork that he feels confident and ready, noting that while the first couple of weeks were spent getting used to the speed of the game and learning the playbook, he now feels fully prepared to play.

The Browns’ decision to pick Concepcion and Denzel Boston in this year’s draft resulted in a conversation over Jerry Juedy’s place on the team. Many spectators questioned whether he would retain his importance after these two additions. 

The chatter was loud enough that general manager Andrew Berry had to make a statement to silence it. 

“Zero impact on Jerry. He’s our bell cow,” Berry said, on Day 2 of the 2026 draft. “With receiver rooms, you can have maybe a ball-dominant player, or you can essentially build a basketball team with different skill sets. We prefer the second approach.”

Berry reassured that Concepcion and Boston were brought in to support Jerry Jeudy. The franchise had to do so after the receivers' disastrous 2025 performance. Jeudy, 27, led the team with 50 receptions from 106 targets for 602 yards.

He only had Cedrick Tillman to fall back on, who was unimpressive in his performance. He recorded 21 receptions from 39 targets for 270 yards. Both WRs caught just two touchdowns each. 

Last season, the Browns’ WR production was detrimental to their campaign, which ended with a 5-12 record. As expectations for this season run high, Concepcion is seen as a player to win laurels at the end of his rookie season.

NFL analyst projects KC Concepcion to win OROTY award

New head coach Todd Monken is supervising an overhaul in the Cleveland Browns' offense. That includes new schemes and molding rookies to fit them.

As KC Concepcion joins the team as their new wideout, NFL.com has written him off as a candidate for an NFL Honors Night award. 

“With Concepcion also offering big-play ability as a punt returner, the Browns' plans to put the ball in his hands via traditional and unconventional methods (fly sweeps, reverses and gadgets) should give him plenty of chances to post numbers that put him in the conversation as a top OROY candidate,” Bucky Brooks wrote on June 26. 

In the 2025 regular season, Concepcion caught 10 out of 15 contested targets. He was one of the four SEC WRs to have ten or more contested catches last year, per Pro Football Focus.

While he has to improve his drop rate he dropped the ball seven times last year, Concepcion thrived in his yards after catch. 

He averaged 7.2 YAC, which ranked ninth among receivers from the SEC. Will he have an explosive rookie season with the Browns and reflect the WR room chemistry on the field? What do you think?
