What happens when two of the best offenses in the league go up against each other? Well, that's what we'll see in Week 14. It's the Dallas Cowboys (29.3 PPG) taking on the Detroit Lions (29.2 PPG). With the Cowboys on a three game winstreak for the first time in 3 years after the Week 14 win, Dak Prescott wasted no time showing that same hunger.

"It's about us, really, just controlling what we can control, winning the games in front of us, and, right now, I don't think we're in a position where we truly have to count wins and losses from other teams. We just win and handle our business, and we'll put ourselves in a great spot,” he said in an interview. 

And the Cowboys have played by those ideas. In the last three wins, they have taken two down 2 Super Bowl winners. First, it was a 24-21 win over the Eagles, followed by a 31-28 victory over the Chiefs. In both games, Dak Prescott and Co. managed to regain footing after falling behind in the scoring. And now, with playoffs on the line, it might not be any different against Detroit.

"It's another good team [Lions], a playoff team, and understanding where they are in their season, trying to control everything that's in front of them. So plan for it to be a hard-fought, four-quarter game,” Prescott said. Well, Dak Prescott didn't call it a potentially 'hard-fought, four quarter game' lightly. Cowboys-Lions games have always have that spark, right?

The last two times they met, the games have been pure carnage. In December 2023, the Dak Prescott and Co. had a 20-19 win in a game that went down to the wire. Less than a year later, in October 2024, the Lions spectacularly turned the tables, dominating Dallas with a 47-9 win. However, there is one positive for the Cowboys.

Last week, right before Dak Prescott put on a show during the Thanskgiving game, the Packers took away a win in Detroit. While Jared Goff and his team held together till the end of the third quarter, their momentum ran out. Could we see something similar this week? And can Dak Prescott use it to launch the Cowboys to a playoffs run? Let's how it looks

Can Dak Prescott and Co. make it to the playoffs? 

If we look at the Cowboys’ schedule after the Lions game, the return home to face the Minnesota Vikings, a team that is very inconsistent and can be an easy win. However, their next home opponent, the Los Angeles Chargers, brings a strong passing attack and can pressure Dallas vertically, testing the Cowboys’ secondary in ways few NFC teams do. 

After these two games, they face the Commanders, followed by a moderately tough game against the Giants. Their margin for error is very small. A single loss could derail hopes, especially if other teams outside of their control win, and even if they win all their games, other contending teams must lose or slip up to open a playoff slot, most likely. 

Despite inconsistencies, losses, and issues in defense. Prescott isn't fazed. "What's important is this game and the way that we prepare for it. What's been done is done. All we can take from those last games are the experience and the confidence, and that's what we're going to roll into this one with."
