Cris Carter Makes Major Travis Kelce Admission Amidst Recent Struggles

NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter dropped his take on Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce amid his toughest season in years

Carter suggested that Kelce might actually choose to walk away after this season.

“It’s not only how he’s moving but where his life is. Sometimes you get an exit door that’s advantageous. It’s not you being pushed out of the NFL. It’s a high-level exit, and you should take it.”

Kelce has been having a tough time this season. After losing the Super Bowl, his numbers fell. 60 catches, 727 yards, and five touchdowns look solid on the surface, but they are still short of his usual dominance.

More importantly, Carter's comments landed at the same time the Chiefs fell to 6-7, weighed down by an offense that can’t seem to stay on track.

A costly drop against the Texans that turned into an interception on a crucial fourth quarter drive. Even Kelce admitted on New Heights that he feels unusually lost this season.

"I keep thinking if I show up to work and I put in the work and I fix the issues through my practice habits and through perfecting the game plan and my fundamentals and what I’m being taught, and go out there and try and play my ass off for my guys next to me, it’s all going to come together like it has in years past. And this year it is just not."

But Travis Kelce can still end this year on a high

As someone who's played with Travis Kelce for nearly a decade, Patrick Mahomes knows a thing or two about comebacks, and he believes Kelce can turn things around this season.

"I know one thing: He'll give everything he has for the rest of this season to try to give us a chance to make a playoff run. We know the chances are getting lower and lower."

However, even Mahomes didn't rule out an potential exit. "Every season I've had with him these last few years, I try to cherish because you never know."

Could Travis Kelce push for the playoffs and end on a high, or will he go for another season and fight for the Super Bowl? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
