"Creep" - Deshaun Watson called out after being named QB1

Deshaun Watson was named QB1 by the Browns despite a poor preseason performance, as well as calling out the Browns fans in a post-match press conference.

New head coach Todd Monken had Watson in a quarterback competition with second-year QB, Shedeur Sanders. Sanders outplayed Watson in preseason and the fans want him to get a shot at quarterback. However, the Browns have gone ahead with Watson who is in the last year of his fully guaranteed $230 million contract.

Jim Rome called out Deshaun Watson on a recent episode of his show, calling Watson a "creep" and slamming him for poor performances on the field:

Deshaun Watson is acting like the world owes him something. Browns fans are making it clear they don't owe the creep a damn thing. Except booing him the next time they see him. They don't owe him bleep. Because he hasn't done bleep. [VIA JIM ROME]

Deshaun Watson is fighting for his NFL future

Media speculation suggests that Todd Monken will give Deshaun Watson the first four weeks of the season to prove that he's the right man to lead the Browns offense going forward. If Watson plays the same way he did in preseason, Shedeur Sanders will get a chance to prove he's the the future of the Cleveland Browns.

If neither QB works out, the Browns have mulitple first round-picks in 2027 in a draft class loaded with quarterback talent.
