Cleveland Browns Praised Over Major Improvements Despite QB Concerns

The Cleveland Browns are emerging from their rebuild with back-to-back standout draft classes. Analyst Tyler Sullivan believes this new foundation finally offsets the franchise's ongoing quarterback instability.

"After building the likes of tight end Harold Fanin, Quinshon Judkins, Mason Graham, and Carson Schwesinger at the 2025 NFL Draft, Cleveland built on momentum by adding impact players like left tackle Spencer Fano, safety Emmanuel McNeil Warren," said Sullivan.

Spencer Fano remains one of the biggest additions to the team. All three Cleveland QBs were hit with a combined total of 51 sacks. This puts them just behind Justin Herbert, who was sacked 54 times, the third most in the league.

Putting Fano alongside Elgton Jenkins and Zion Johnson makes the offensive line much better than it was last year. And there are more additions made to the offense.

"Along with receivers KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston, that gives the Browns a really strong foundation to build on, albeit without a clear-cut answer at quarterback."

These additions provide essential flexibility following Jerry Jeudy’s underwhelming 2025 campaign, where Harold Fanin Jr. led the team in yards.

Pairing that group with another high class of 2026 has accelerated the Browns' rebuilding timeline faster than expected.

The team, however, made no changes to the QB room, except for Taylen Green's addition. That means, for the 2026 season, either Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson will be QB1, and with the team around them being improved, the team should perform better.

However, The Browns Predicted to Move On From One QB

With the Browns continuing to rebuild their offense and going through long-term options at the positions, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes the team could explore trading QB Dillon Gabriel before training camp starts.

According to Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, "Cleveland needs to develop its entire quarterback room, especially given the team's recent injury history at the position. With rookie sixth-round pick Taylen Green in the equation, and only so many reps to go around in training camp, the Browns should look to trade Dillon Gabriel before camp."

Gabriel only managed 7 touchdowns across 10 games, and once Sanders took over, he reached that number with two games to spare. With Taylen Green in the team, Gabriel might be on his way out.
