Cleveland Browns Linked With 26-Year-Old Packers' Star Amidst OL Crisis
The entire offensive line of the Cleveland Browns is going to hit the free agency before the 2026 season starts. It's a rare feat that no NFL team has gone through since 1970. They desperately need some reinforcements.
Of course, they can resign some of the old ones, but this OL disappointed big time in 2025. Rookie QB Shedeur Sanders was sacked 23 times in seven games, which shows how easily he got embused by opponents. NFL Insider Cameron Wolfe has predicted that the Browns might sign Rasheed Walker.
"He's a guy who's excellent and past pro is always a position that gets paid a lot in free agency. And look, he's just 26 years old. One team I'm told to keep an eye on the Cleveland Browns, who have a lot of offensive line needs. They've expressed interest potentially in Walker..."
The Green Bay Packers drafted Rasheed Walker in the 7th round of the 2022 NFL Draft (No. 249 overall) on a standard 4-year rookie deal. His contract will expire on the first day of the 2026 league year at 4 p.m. ET on March 11.
This means that he will be a free agent next season. Walker has made 48 starts over the past three seasons for the Packers and played in every game since taking over at left tackle for former All-Pro David Bakhtiari in 2023.
In the 2025 season, he allowed 9 penalties, 5 sacks, 1 hit, and 34 total pressures, with all 986 snaps at left tackle. He is the one guy the Browns must get, and it's not Cameron Wolfe alone who says that. ESPN insider Matt Bowen has also talked about the same thing.
“With needs across the offensive line, the Browns should target Walker, the top offensive tackle on our board,” Bowen wrote. “His pass block win rate of 93.8% with the Packers ranked 11th among 68 qualifying offensive tackles in 2025, and he should be viewed as an upgrade in Cleveland, as new coach Todd Monken rebuilds the front.”
But Walker isn't the only Packers talent the Cleveland Browns are being linked to.
Cleveland Browns Can Get Another OL From the Packers
Bill Barnwell of ESPN has linked the Browns to another star to improve their offensive line: Sean Rhyan of the Packers.
"I had Sean Rhyan here from the Packers. It's not like he's a great player, but he can play multiple spots. He can play center, he can play guard. 25, still really young. Is he good? Not sure. He's okay, but he's cheap, young. I think he'd be useful. Think you can find a spot for him, and they need bodies."
The Green Bay Packers drafted him in the third round (92nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, and he signed a 4-year $5.12 million rookie contract.
Rhyan played 808 offensive snaps this season, allowing just 1 sack but giving up 8 quarterback hits and 27 total pressures while committing 5 penalties. Do you think he will be a good option? Let us know in the comments.
