Cleveland Browns Daily Roundup: Council Eyes Stadium Deal, Will Shedeur Impact Playoffs, and Much More

Big things are happening for the Browns. Sanders will be starting his second game, this time against the 49ers, but that's not the biggest highlight in Cleveland. There's updates about the stadium, and special Cleveland Browns fans getting an award, and more!

Council Votes on Stadium Pending

Mayor Justin Bibb’s $100 million agreement with the Haslam Sports Group would let the Browns leave the lakefront stadium, fund its demolition, and clear the way for a new domed stadium in Brook Park while opening the lakefront for redevelopment. But the Cleveland City Council is scrutinizing the deal.

As of the latest development, the Cleveland City Council “won’t rush to vote” on this settlement as council members are “preparing their own tweaks to the deal to send to Bibb, who would then have to return” to team owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam for approval, according to Sean McDonnell of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER.

Can Shedeur Help Have an Impact in the Playoffs?

With Shedeur Sanders taking over as the Browns’ starter, Cleveland isn’t suddenly a playoff team, but his presence can shake up the playoff picture.

While the Browns won’t make a run themselves, they can wreak havoc against contenders thanks to an elite pass rush led by Myles Garrett and a run game that matches up well against teams like the Bills and 49ers. If he plays well, he could solidify a future in Cleveland or boost his value elsewhere. If not, the team may move on. Either way, the Browns have a real chance to disrupt the AFC race down the stretch.

Cleveland Browns fan of the year

Kyle Kovach, a school counselor and lifelong Browns fan, thought he was simply taking his twin sons on a tour of the Browns practice facility. Instead, the moment turned into a surprise he never saw coming.

Browns defensive tackle Mason Graham walked out holding a jersey and two Super Bowl tickets and told Kyle he had been chosen as the 2025 Cleveland Browns Fan of the Year. As the Browns explained in their Instagram post, Kyle connected fans through his fandom, hosting cookouts with the neighborhood and his family.

Now, after years of supporting the team through traditions big and small, Kyle will carry that passion all the way to the Super Bowl as he competes for the NFL’s Fan of the Year title.

Odds Support 49ers

The Browns (3-8) are coming off a 24-10 win in Shedeur Sanders' first start, powered by 10 sacks and strong special teams play. But make no mistake. The 49ers are here to win.

San Francisco (8-4) just beat the Panthers 20-9 on Monday night, despite Brock Purdy throwing three first-half interceptions, continuing an up-and-down stretch for the 49ers. That was their second win in a row, and while their performance was not too great in the games that came before, the 49ers are a team competing against the likes of the Rams and Seahawks for NFC West. They will give everything they have.

Dylan Sampson Nominated for ROTW

In the Browns’ 24-10 win over the Raiders, Sampson had 7 carries for 23 yards and scored 1 touchdown. He had just flipped the script of his season in this game by turning a short pass from Sanders into a 66-yard fourth-quarter touchdown, the Browns’ longest reception of the season.
