Ahead of the Cleveland Browns' Week 15 tie against the Bears, Shedeur Sanders received a massive boost.

Chicago Bears' head coach Ben Johnson took a moment to praise the young QB's performance following his Week 14 performance.

“You can feel their offense picking it up a little bit. He's a dangerous player…I think he's doing a great job as a rookie. He's able to sit in and soak in that offense over the course of the spring and the summer and early in the season. And you can tell that that's probably benefited him to a degree, cuz now he's able to go out there and let it loose. He does a great job of extending the play and creating on his own as well.” 

Sanders threw for 364 yards in the game against the Titans, the only Browns player to hit the 300 mark this season. He will now look to perform against the Bears. 

More importantly, Sanders has started the last three games for the Browns, and while they have lost 2 of them, the offense has been better than before. In their first 9 games, the team only managed to touch the 20-point mark twice.

Now, it's all coming together. With Isaiah Bond, Harold Fannin Jr. and Quinshon Judkins putting on decent numbers, the Cleveland offense feels fully alive at times.

But can Shedeur Sanders manage to pull it off against the Bears

The game against the Bears starts a tough stretch for the Browns, which includes matchups against teams like the Steelers and the Bills. Shedeur needs to prove himself to retain the QB1 role for 2026.

He might just have a decent outing, since the Bears are conceding an average of 224.8 passing yards per game. However, it will come down to turnovers. In fact, ESPN’s Seth Walder made the bold prediction on Friday that Sanders would follow up last week’s heater with a stinker in Chicago.

“Sanders will turn the ball over at least three times [against the Bears]. The Bears' defense is forcing turnovers on 19% of opponents' drives, which is the best in the NFL by a mile, and Sanders has the worst QBR (19.9) among all QBs with at least 100 pass attempts.”
