Shedeur Sanders has been making the headlines since day 1, be it the draft, the benches, or ever since his debut. And now he might even be making some lists, at least the Chicago Bears Star's statement hinted at that.

Chicago Bears CB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson confessed in an interview with the Chicago Sun-Times that while Sanders is a good talent, he wanted to make sure to create trouble for him.

"It's about time he ran into some problems. He's a great young player. They're a great young group that's playing hard, physical. He's just going against a lot of vets that have something to play for. Sometimes you gotta teach a rookie how to stay in a rookie's place."

"You get what you emphasize," Johnson added. "Every day we emphasize the ball."

The 2024-25 Super Bowl winner did not back away from creating problems for the Rookie QB in the game. He intercepted Sanders in the fourth quarter and returned it 32 yards to the Browns’ 22-yard line. That turnover set up a Bears field goal and made the win more dominating.

Then, in the same quarter, with 6:12 remaining, Sanders checked down the ball to Judkins to the left. The play lost 4 yards, with none other than C.J. Gardner-Johnson making the tackle. Johnson ended the game with 3 solo tackles, 1 assist, and 1 interception.

The Bears were warned off Shedeur Sanders

Before the two teams came face to face in the chilling cold, Bears' coach Ben Johnson had sent words of warning to his team.

“Cleveland, in the last three games with the new quarterback, you can feel their offense picking up a little bit. He’s a dangerous player...He was able to sit in and soak up that offense over the course of the spring and summer and early in the season, and you can tell that’s benefited him… now he’s able to go out there and let it loose."

The Bears' defense did not let him 'let it loose'. Shedeur Sanders, who had recorded multiple records in his last game, was limited to only 18 of 35 for 131 yards, zero touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. With the primary OL missing, the QB was not protected, and the Bears sacked him 5 times.

Sanders himself was impressed by the defense. "They had a great defensive scheme. I enjoyed playing against them. I enjoyed playing in that. It was definitely a little challenge, so I look forward to learning from that. And look forward to understanding exactly how things were on film and being able to learn from it," he said post-game.
