Chicago Bears Might Have a Myles Garrett Trade Offer That Browns Can’t Refuse

A potential trade for Myles Garrett has gained traction. A new report outlines a blockbuster deal that would send the star defensive end to the NFC North.
Ernest Cova of FanSided suggested that the Chicago Bears could acquire Garrett from the Browns in a trade deal involving four future draft picks and two players.
He wrote that the Bears could acquire defensive end (DE) Garrett and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft in return for the 25th overall, 60th overall in the 2026 draft, a 2027 first-round pick, and DE Dayo Odeyingbo.
Cova gave a rundown of the Bears’ defense performance last year and spelled out their desperation for a DE. Moreover, their conversation with Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders fell apart.

“They ranked in the bottom five last season for average yards allowed per game (361.8) and logged just 35 sacks…” he wrote. “[Montez] Sweat was responsible for 10 of Chicago’s 35 sacks and forced three fumbles (recovered one) last year. The next five DEs on the Bears’ stat leaders list combined for nine sacks and one forced fumble.”
Dayo Odeyingbo tore his Achilles tendon in November, and Shemar Turner followed up with a torn ACL in October. Montez Sweat was their saving grace with 38 solo tackles and 10 sacks.
The timeline of their recovery is uncertain, and NFL record holder Garrett is too tempting to pass. Except that their cap space limitation is holding them back.
Does Cova’s Pitch Actually Hold Up Considering the Bears’ Shallow Pockets?
The 30-year-old had a stellar run in the last season. He recorded 23 sacks and surpassed Hall of Famer Michael Strahan’s record of most sacks by a player in a season.
The Browns’ lead edge rusher made 43 solo tackles out of 60 and three forced fumbles, making it his most rewarding season yet.
But despite his remarkable personal feats, Garrett is nowhere close to his “ultimate goal” of playing in and winning a Super Bowl. He first admitted his gratitude and disappointment with the Browns in an open letter in the preseason last year.
He asked for a trade but eventually signed a $160 million contract extension. However, the Browns restructured his contract this year in March, delaying his $31 million paycheck to September.
Last season, they amassed an 11-6-0 regular-season record, and they seem like a good fit. Except they cannot splurge on him. In fact, across all 32 teams, the Chicago Bears are dead last in available cap space for 2026.
Meanwhile, the Browns have also been adamant about keeping Myles Garrett. So what do you think? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.
