Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Comes to CJ Stroud’s Rescue After Shannon Sharpe Shames Him on Live Podcast

"don't need to do any podcast," Shannon Sharpe told CJ Stroud after his terrific performance against the Patriots. But co-host Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson wanted the QB to speak.

He argued with Sharpe over why the Texans player shouldn't express himself. The former TE rained down on Stroud's performance in return. But the former WR still defended the Texans quarterback.

"Yeah, I want to talk about how bad I play. I want to face the music. I played bad. I let my teammates down. I let myself down. I am my own big biggest critic. No matter what anyone else has said about me on any platform, how I played it, I'm going to fix the situation," he said.

CJ Stroud was abysmal against the Patriots. He recorded 212 yards and 1 touchdown, completing 20 of 47 passes. The quarterback threw for 4 interceptions and had a passer rating of 28.0.

He became the first QB since Kerry Collins in 1998 with 4 interceptions and less than 43% of his passes completed in a game. Johnson wanted him to take responsibility for it in the media and return better.

But Sharpe is not interested in seeing what Stroud has to say about; he wants him to show it. "Don't tell us about it. Show us," he said in the podcast. Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson also believed that the Texans and their QB will eventually fix things.

"I think he's going to be right because he's a tremendous talent. He's a tremendous talent…they and he will get things fixed. So, he's better for the Texans," he said. And he is not alone defending the QB; Stroud himself has also replied to the criticism.

CJ Stroud Promises a Comeback

The 24-year-old did not have the best of his season. He has a passer rating of 92.9 with 3,041 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions in 14 games this season. But he has promised to be back and be better.

“I look back, and I just feel like I let people down, and I’m not happy with that,” he said. "It hurts, and I’m not naïve to it. I didn’t play my best this year, but I’m going to respond. I’m going to keep my chest up, my chin up high, and I’m going to just keep battling forward.”

Things do not get better if we look at his performance this whole postseason. He has a passer rating of 51.8 with 462 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions in 2 games. Stroud became the first player ever with five interceptions and five fumbles in a single postseason.

"Regardless of what it is in that specific season, I’m going to learn from this, and I’m going to move on, I’ll be better, and I’m going to be back," he said.
