Celebrity Reactions to Bears' Playoff Loss: Patrick Mahomes, Caitlin Clark and more
After tying the game 17-17 in the fourth quarter, Caleb Williams, in overtime, hurled the ball for a touchdown towards Moore, before Kam Curl swooped in and intercepted him. The Rams won 20-17 in an equally matched game against the Bears on Sunday.
Post Williams’ interception, the Rams scored a 42-yard field goal, which shattered the Bears’ Super Bowl championship hopes and left fans heartbroken.
Apart from the sad and angry fan reactions, many celebrities have also shared their thoughts on watching the game.
Patrick Mahomes Had a Good Laugh
The Kansas City Chiefs’ franchise quarterback did not qualify for the playoffs this season, for the first time in his career. But he did watch the game and shared his reaction.
Which explains his short X post. Mahomes wrote “awesome!” with three laughing emojis at the results.
Mahomes’ reaction to the Bears' and Williams’ loss seems justified as the Bears defeated the Chiefs 29-27 in their last faceoff, on their home turf.
It is well known that the quaretrebacks are not friends. They are division rivals, and Williams maintained he wants to remain rivals.
In April 2025, he opened up about keeping the competitive edge between himself and his counterparts. Williams proceeded to say he doesn’t want to make friends in the league.
“I think the NFL game has become very friendly, and I don’t necessarily want to be friends, because I want to keep that competitive advantage,” he stated.
On the other hand, Mahomes and the Rams’ quarterback, Matthew Stafford, are good friends. In a 2024 interview, Mahomes shared that he adores Stafford and respects his game-making.
“First off, he’s a Texas guy, so I mean, always love the Texas quarterbacks are out there having success. Everybody talks about the sidearm throws and the no-look passes, I mean, that’s from watching guys like Matthew Stafford play, that I’ve been able to do it."
As Williams’ late heroics and eventual defeat unfolded, the theatric finish drew real-time reactions from prominent voices across various sports.
Caitlin Clark and Pat McAfee Were in Awe and Heartbroken Over Williams
While both teams were tied at halftime, the Rams took a lead of 17-10 when Kyren Williams scored his second touchdown. With only 18 seconds left in the fourth quarter, it looked like they were going to win, but Caleb Williams threw a touchdown to Cole Kmet and tied the match.
Nicknamed ‘Iceman’ for his last-minute drives, WNBA icon and Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark wrote, “The bears are insane,” while Pat McAfee posted, “HOLLLYYYYY S*** THE ICEMAN DOES IT AGAIN.”
Despite his heroics, the Bears lost when Williams was intercepted, prompting one fan’s disappointed reaction. In an X post, Micah Parsons wrote “Nah bruh w**!”
The match was a rollercoaster with the stalemate third quarter as no team could score a point. Next Sunday, the Rams will face the Seahawks.
