Carson Beck is facing backlash after a tough National Championship loss.
The National Championship game between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Miami Hurricanes had everything. Great game, amazing plays, and drama too.
After a 27-21 game in favor of the Hoosiers, Beck walked off the field without shaking hands with Mendoza. While some fans bashed him for his unsportsmanlike actions, others understood why Beck didn’t display fair play.
In a crunch situation, when his every pass could affect their future, he ended up throwing a pass to a wide receiver who had double coverage. Star running back Mark Fletcher Jr. came and hugged Mendoza after the game was over, but we will talk about him later.
Miami QB Carson Beck walking off the field without shaking Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza’s hand after the National Championship, is classless, in my opinion.

NFL analyst Jon Root spoke about this incident, targeting Beck directly. “Miami QB Carson Beck walking off the field without shaking Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza’s hand after the National Championship is classless. Losing is tough, but show some sportsmanship and congratulate your competitor.”
After the game Beck stated, “For it to end like that is hard. It’s really tough, but again, a group that has faced so much adversity, to have that opportunity to win at the end says a lot about this team and about us."
Despite a controversial moment and a heartbreaking loss, Beck was solid on the field. He scored a touchdown, threw for 232 passing yards, and threw only one interception.
However, he wasn’t the only one who lost his cool on the field in the National Championship game. If you think that Carson Beck not offering a handshake to Fernando Mendoza was the only controversy, then think again.
Miami's Mark Fletcher Jr. Punched Indiana's Tyrique Tucker
From what looked like an intense game, the situation got more troublesome, with Mark Fletcher Jr. and Tyrique Tucker involved in an ugly fight.
Miami’s recruiting director, Mike Rumph, revealed that the Hoosiers’ defensive tackle made a vile comment about Mark’s father, who had recently passed away.
“Dude [Tyrique Tucker] was talking about Mark’s dad, who passed away last year,” Mike confirmed. “Mark is and always will be one of the most classy people you will meet. RIP Mr. Fletcher.”
On the other hand, the 24-year-old wasn't happy with Fletcher's actions. During an interview with the Herald-Times, Tucker stated that Miami's running back stunned him with a punch, and he wanted no part of it.
"I was just trying to congratulate him on the game," Tucker told The Herald-Times. "He tried to sneak me, but everybody kind of held me back. That was a cheap punch. Luckily, we got the win, I'm not really too worried about it. He's salty, he going home with the L."
