“Calling Me Washed”: Stefon Diggs Claps Back at Haters as GF Cardi B Reveals Harsh Reality

Stefon Diggs is heading to his first Super Bowl. After the New England Patriots' dramatic AFC Championship win, the star receiver had a message for everyone who called him 'washed'.

“They were calling me washed. Saying I didn’t have it anymore. I just wanted to prove to myself I am who I say I am. This team took a chance on me. I just wanted to make them proud.”

Although his performance wasn’t up to the mark, with only 5 receptions for 17 yards, the occasion of reaching his first-ever Super Bowl overshadowed it. In 17 games this season, Diggs has scored 4 touchdowns for 1013 receiving yards.

Even his partner, rapper Cardi B, got emotional sharing the hardships the Patriots’ wide receiver went through.

“I feel very happy for him, very proud of him. You know he just came back from ACL and me seeing the progress of him first time running back, and now joining the Patriots and then go into the Super Bowl, I am very excited for him.”

Diggs suffered a serious ACL injury in Week 8 against the Colts while playing for the Texans last season. He only played eight games and missed the rest of the season. Later, in May 2025, he signed a mega-money contract with the Patriots.

Diggs credited one person in particular for his successful return.

Stefon Diggs on Head Coach Mike Vrabel

Stefon Diggs was especially thankful to coach Mike Vrabel, who led New England to the Super Bowl in his first season.

"We lost to the Steelers, and nobody believed in us, let alone like us. Our coach believed in us, he helped us build this identity…hopefully he wins coach of the year, he’s probably the best coach I ever had."

After losing two out of the first three games, Vrabel led the charge and secured the No. 2 seed with a 14-3 record. The Patriots will either meet the Rams or the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.

Will they clinch their first Lombardi Trophy since 2018? Let us know in the comments!
