Browns warned not to draft CFB’s most controversial QB Brendan Sorsby after agent’s gaffe
The Browns are being seen as a possible landing spot for the controversial Texas quarterback, Brendan Sorsby, via the Supplemental Draft. Sorsby recently admitted to struggling with g******* where he placed over 4,000 b*** during his college.
Browns’ insider, Ken Carman, warned the franchise against pulling off such a move on the 92.3 The Fan show yesterday. His statement came after Sorsby’s agent, Ron Slavin, made a few comments regarding the QB’s innocence.
“Hearing his words makes me not want him even more,” shared Carman. “I’m not anti-player g*******, but I’m trying to save my franchise. I have a fan base that actively dislikes the team. We just traded away a first-ballot Hall of Fame guy.”

The Browns are already making headlines for their unsettled starting quarterback competition between Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson. Carman also called out the messy QB situation at Cleveland.
“The next QB for this team has to get the nose up on this thing and take this franchise to a place that hasn’t been before, as well as get the fans back on their side,” added Carman.
Carman further shared, “And I’m gonna do that all this coming summer for a guy who has to have his agent go out there and tell Dallas Radio that he goes to church every week? Am I the only one who is sane here?”
Sorsby’s agent recently said that around 22 teams reached out to him after Sorsby declared for the draft. Additionally, to prove the young QB’s innocence, Slavin said that his client “goes to church” every week
For NFL teams, Sorsby’s g******* history remains a point of concern. Some of those b*** involved his own team while still on the roster. Although the QB completed a month-long rehab, his future remains unpredictable.
The Browns’ interest in the QB remains unclear. However, head coach Todd Monken made his stance known.
Todd Monken clears the air on Brendan Sorsby
Amid reports that the Texas Tech QB is considering the Supplemental Draft, Monken was asked about the possibility of the Browns choosing him.
“I don’t think we’re in that position to go down that road,” replied Monken. “That’s my opinion, that’s not Andrew’s (general manager). I like the quarterbacks that we have.
Monken further added that no matter how talented Sorsby is, drafting him would be a “slippery slope” for the Browns. He shared that in other sports, players are suspended for life for engaging/placing b***.
Sorsby continues to get attention from teams due to his college production. His final year in Cincinnati saw him register 2,813 yards, 447 rushing yards, nine touchdowns and 66% completion rate.
At 6 feet and 3 inches tall, Sorsby’s mobility and arm strength set him apart as a QB with starting-level traits. Unfortunately, due to his problematic past with placing b***, his future in the NFL remains a question, one that the Browns aren’t willing to answer.
